The 13 Days of Self-love commemorates the two year anniversary of The Self- Love Holiday (the 13th of Each month.), launched February 13, 2006. The Self-love Movement and Holiday was created by Lacey C. Clark!, Founder and Personal Empowerment Coach of Sisters’ Sanctuary™ as a day for women all over the world to celebrate, honor and embrace themselves. “In our patriarchal society women are taught they are inferior. Media teaches women and girls that their most important value is sex and sexuality. Rarely is our sacredness affirmed. Women and girls intern equate their self-worth their body image, hair color and/or ability to perform well sexually,” says Lacey C. Clark!, Founder and Personal Empowerment Coach of Sisters’ Sanctuary™. “We are worth soooo much more. We are sacred valuable beings.” brbr
The Sisters' Sanctuary™ Self-Love Day is the 13th of every month, because the number thirteen had been revered in matrifocial cultures, allegedly, because it corresponded to the number of lunar (menstrual) cycles in a year (13 x 28 = 364 days). Women’s bodies were the first system of time measurement and could predict the seasons of the year, the migration of animals and how to forecast childbirth with accuracy of a day. The 13th day of every month should be a reminder of women’s sacredness, divinity and power to positively affect the future of humanity by nurturing and valuing themselves to better mold and shape youth. brbr
This Self-Love Celebration begins February 1st and concludes on the National Monthly Self-Love Day, February 13th. For example, Day four of the celebration is list 13 greatest moments in your life and share them with female youth. Day eight of Celebration is create a play list of 13 songs of encouragement and personal empowerment and listen to through out the remainder of the celebration. The 13 Days of Self-love encourages women and girls to set aside special time for themselves to practice the art of self-love. Its mission is to have women and female youth affirm and appreciate their raw beauty, intelligence and power. brbr
