With mortgages being defaulted on, apartment living costs increasing, and the falling employment rate, apartment management companies are looking for new and inventive ways to attract new residents and retain the residents they currently have. Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation (RHAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving quality affordable housing for families and individuals of diverse ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds, while supporting their well-being through the delivery of on-site social service programs. [BR} Experienced apartment professionals have found that in order to keep pace with today’s lifestyle it is imperative to offer more than just an apartment, you must also offer a sense of community, a sense of belonging, and a sense of ownership to your residents. These challenges are also coupled with offering a sense of self worth when dealing with low to moderate income families. [BR] Rainbow Housing is on the forefront of offering social service programs to these residents. To date, the programs we offer have not been federally funded, but through partnerships with other non-profit groups, these programs have thrived. Each day our team educates the youth, practices crime prevention by monitoring those in challenging demographics, educate on teen pregnancy prevention, transport senior citizens to their much needed medical appointments, provide after school enrichment programs, feed those that are hungry, and care for those that have suffered from unforeseen tragedy. [BR] In order to continue to provide much needed resident services, RHAC has put together their First Annual Golf Tournament. The tournament is scheduled to take place on May 16th 2008 at Rio Verde Country Club from 10:30am to 8:00pm. Rainbow reached out to many national and local companies and organizations to commit to a “hole sponsorship” that also aligned with their core values. The hole sponsorship includes: green fees, cart fees, range balls for warm-up, awards, lunch, and a plated dinner by a world renowned master chef who is on staff at Rio Verde Country Club. [BR] When asked what this event means to her, Flynann Janisse, Executive Director stated, “I joined the non-profit world because it offered a means for me to use the skills I had developed over the past 20 years in housing and pay it forward. The opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of one or many pulled at my very soul. I never imagined my life’s work would become giving life to others.” [BR] Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation has set a goal in the coming years to impact 100% of our resident population at all of the communities we service, and to continue to expand our mission to the surrounding communities.
